NORTHERN LIGHTS, UKAHALA–In an historic announcement, Prior Bumble establishes a new rank in the Recon Federation of Club Penguin.

In August of this year, I had lunch with my friend, John Grisham (a NY Times bestselling author). I brought a stack of three hardcover copies of his book and thumped them onto the table at the restaurant. He signed them in between smiles and conversation and crunching on his salad.

One was for me.

One was for a old woman who requested it.

And one was for Vizconde Don, 4ic of the Recon Federation of Club Penguin (RFCP).

Don is a big fan of John Grisham’s. Unfortunately, our beloved vizconde is living in a country wrought with unrest. Political violence in Ecuador has disrupted government services in his area, and the package I sent with his gift from me and Grisham weeks ago seems to be lost.

But thankfully, not all of the gift is gone.

That is because I had asked Grisham to inscribe something very specific into Don’s book. I took a photo of it. And the impact of such a gift can hit with or without the physical product…

Yes. You read that correctly.

I hereby establish the rank of Conquistador, 3ic, division head of the RFCP Marines, and promote Don to this rank.

Amidst Don’s passionate but respectful campaign to #makedivsionheadsequal, I have been telling him for weeks to trust me. I anticipated the arrival of this book, and for him to open it and find out that I had supported him all along.

Well, he has trusted me, and been with this army as its powerful Spanish-speaking bastion for years. I establish this rank because he deserves it–and because I fundamentally agree that it is time RFCP’s global divisions have full equality.

But I also do this as his friend–and as a message to him and to all of you that I will always keep my promises. And if you give me the time to prove it, I will never let you down.

Soldados de la RFCP,

En agosto de este año, almorcé con mi amigo, John Grisham (autor de bestsellers del NY Times). Traje una pila de tres copias de tapa dura de su libro y las tiré sobre la mesa del restaurante. Los firmó entre sonrisas y conversación y masticando su ensalada.

Uno era para mi.

Uno era para una anciana que lo solicitó.

Y uno fue para Vizconde Don, 4ic de la Recon Federation de Club Penguin (RFCP).

Don es un gran admirador de John Grisham. Lamentablemente, nuestro querido vizconde vive en un país plagado de inquietudes. La violencia política en Ecuador ha interrumpido los servicios del gobierno en su área, y el paquete que le envié con su regalo de parte mía y de Grisham hace unas semanas parece haberse perdido.

Pero afortunadamente, no todo el regalo se ha ido.

Eso es porque le pedí a Grisham que inscribiera algo muy específico en el libro de Don. Le saqué una foto. Y el impacto de tal regalo puede impactar con o sin el producto físico…

Por la presente establezco el rango de Conquistador, 3ic, jefe de división de la RFCP Marines, y asciendo a Don a este rango.

En medio de la campaña apasionada pero respetuosa de Don para #makedivsionheadsequal, le he estado diciendo durante semanas que confíe en mí. Anticipé la llegada de este libro y que él lo abriera y descubriera que lo había apoyado todo el tiempo.

Bueno, ha confiado en mí y ha estado con este ejército como su poderoso bastión de habla hispana durante años. Establezco este rango porque se lo merece, y porque estoy fundamentalmente de acuerdo en que es hora de que las divisiones globales de RFCP tengan plena igualdad.

Pero también hago esto como su amigo, y como un mensaje para él y para todos ustedes de que siempre cumpliré mis promesas. Y si me das el tiempo para probarlo, nunca te defraudaré.
