CSY Enlists in the Recon Federation of Club Penguin

NORTHERN LIGHTS, UKAHALA─ RFCP welcomes the newest member of its family: Lieutenant CSY!  Read on for an exclusive interview with the former ACP Leader!

On a sunny Saturday afternoon at the Ukahala cove, 12:30 p.m. EST, the Recon Federation of Club Penguin (RFCP) gathered around the fire with breaths held. Others watched the livestream with anticipation. In just a few moments, former ACP leader, CSY, would recite the RFCP oath with all his honor, and all he is, in front of his soon-to-be soldier brethren. Many were still getting over the shock of his request to enlist.

So surprising was his request, in fact, that hicom deeply discussed it before granting approval, and Commander Prior Bumble vetted his former rival hard in DMs.

“…If you are genuine about enlisting here,” Prior said, “and not in a gc [group chat] right now laughing at how gullible I am, you are going to receive hate from CPA. You are going to be ridiculed. You are going to no longer be trusted. Choosing the absolute love and power that is RFCP unavoidably means choosing to reject the acceptance of the army community. I wish it were not so, but it is. You need to understand what making this choice means.”

Nonetheless, he chose. And Prior welcomed him with open arms.

When the time came for the ceremony to make it official, Prior looked CSY in the eye.

“Do you come here freely?” he said.

“Yes,” said CSY.

Prior delivered a speech.

“Rival becomes friend. Friend becomes brother. Brother becomes RFCP,” said Prior. “A mountain rises to rival the other, only to realize it looks it in the eye. Look around the fire, CSY. These are the faces of RFCP. It is not just Prior Bumble. Those are the faces who will love you, and also the faces who you will hurt if your words aren’t true. So, are they true?”

CSY replied, “You know they are.”

“I do, brother,” said Prior.

The moment of shared respect was tangible.

“Repeat after me…”

After the last word of the oath was uttered, Prior stepped up to CSY and embraced him.

“Where is my firm handshake?” CSY joked.

He got it.

In total, the event maxed 14, with two on the livestream and twelve in-person.

CSY has been assigned the rank of Lieutenant with limited access to the server until a period of trust-earning has come to fruition, at which point he will receive the rank of Admiral, head of the RFCP Navy (AUSIA).

Commissar HamsterloverL sat down for an interview:

Hamster: Choosing an army to enlist in is a big decision, and we appreciate that you considered RFCP!  What made you decide to enlist in RFCP in the first place?

CSY: Honest answer? I’ve heard a lot of recounts of RFCP being a cult/stories of emotional turmoil. Yet there are many that stay and love RFCP to this day. Differences in recounts/opinions of people in an army is not a novel thing in CPA, but I have never seen it to this extent. That is what fascinated me about RFCP and I wanted to see for myself, full experience and all.

H: Now that you’re officially enlisted, how does it feel to be an official part of RFCP?  Would you have ever imagined that you’d end up here after your time in CPA?

C: Possibly? I’ve always wanted to see for myself in regards to Q1, but with Prior’s departure from the community, it wouldn’t have been the same. I only recently got wind of his return, which is what sparked the interest.

H: How has RFCP been different from other armies you have been in in the past?

C: I’ve not been here for a long time, but I must say the swear in was pretty fun. I wonder why not more people do it honestly, especially for high-ranking individuals.

I’ve also had one of the calmest and most mutually respectful abortion debate I’ve had (with none other than MicrowaveHamster), which is a breath of fresh air on any sort of controversial topic, CPA or otherwise.

H:  What are you most looking forward to with your experience in RFCP?

C: I genuinely don’t know what to expect since RFCP has been quite secluded from the community. Wherever it leads, I guess!

H:  Lastly, a very important question: given the army’s current obsession with Pokémon (lol), what is your favorite Pokémon and why?

C: 😮 Volcarona is my favorite Pokémon. I was a dumb kid back then and my infernape kept dying to hydro pump. I thought bug = grass = resists water and thought volcarona would be the most OP thing ever. Though he IS very good with quiver dance set up 🙂 so no regrets there. (And I know volcanion would technically suit my definition better, but nothing beats sweeping with x2 Quiver Dance XD)

H: Haha, Volcarona is a solid pick either way! Thank you once again for letting me interview you CSY, and congratulations on your enlistment!

Welcome, CSY!
