NORTHERN LIGHTS, UKAHALA–A LOT has been going on for the army this summer! Read on for a BRAND NEW REVEAL of our Five Years of Service Medal and a recap of our 5th Anniversary celebrations. Stay tuned this week for coverage on more of our high-speed happenings.

When midnight hit the army on June 5, 2024, the server’s custom bot posted in #news. Five times–one for each year of the existence of the Recon Federation of Club Penguin (RFCP)–it rang out a birthday wish.

Anniversary week normally accompanies a litany of RFCP-themed events, but the occasion was different this year. Our beloved and eternal Commander, Prior Bumble, found himself mostly unavailable–not even in the country!– on this date. Much in keeping with the spirit of the army and who he is, Prior was working with a foreign (U.S.-allied) Navy on a declassified war project. However, not even oceans and mountains can separate the love of a Commander for his soldiers.
On June 5, the Commander made time to offer several meaningful gestures. To set the right tone for the day, he began by boosting the server to Level 3.

Three soldiers were then excited to receive promotions–two (FourthGearVibez and ZentheDuck) to Ice Corporal and one (Killua) to Colonel.
Later, the army awaited award announcements. Col. Killua, first in line to be RFCP Admiral, received the 6th most prestigious medal in the army, the RFCP Purple Heart. See his citation under the medals page.
Other than boosts, the army offered two more giveaways: a crisp $1,000 BB bill and a Discord profile banner. Red Baron Exsavitator was both the lucky winner of the bill and the designer of the banner along with Conq. Don, shown at the top of this post.
Additionally, Prior had promised to leave a real-world “RFCP” mark somewhere in South America in honor of the anniversary. That promise was kept.

Perhaps the best surprise of the day, however, was when T.H.R. CCJay, who has been gone for almost a year, remembered this sacred day and reached out to her old Commander and friend. Despite describing himself as “no gentleman,” Prior embodied a moment of gentleness–in a tender voice, he invited her to the server to be welcomed with celebratory delight. She accepted.

Handfuls of soldiers then hopped onto voice chat and spent the rest of the evening reminiscing, rejoicing, and being damn proud of being RFCP.
Soldiers at each hour of this beautiful anniversary had re-oathed each other in the server and received their purple anniversary role–a tradition started last year. The Commander himself, at the day came to a close, went last.

With that, exclusive here at the blog, we now reveal the Five Years of Service medal:
